Rattlesden Gliding Club.

A fulfillment of a life-long ambition to go gliding and an opportunity to open up another window in my photography portfolio.

That was the plan anyway.

The weather conditions were a bit suspect, and flying was not a certainty, however 8 friends and neighbours ventured to Rattlesden Airfield near Stowmarket for an experience not to be forgotten.

In less than ideal conditions, the decision was taken to fly and we all took our turns for two flights each.

My idea was to use the opportunity to take some aerial shots of the surrounding countryside. An idea that seemed a good idea at the time, however, forgetting to take the camera up on the first flight did curtail the opportunity somewhat. What made that even more annoying was that I was treated to an aerial view of a full rainbow. A real spectacle missed.

The second flight was better and I managed to get some shots, not very good though. Trying to keep control of your stomach and the camera at the same time is a bit challenging.

This experience has sown the seed though for other aerial exploits with the hope of better pictures as a result.

MARITIME WOODBRIDGE PHOTO COLLECTION

Hi, welcome to my first photographic collection.

These photos were all taken in and around Woodbridge riverside, in Suffolk.

This collection is the first of a series of collections depicting all aspects of nature and its surroundings.

The photos have all been digitally enhanced and modified in a style that changes the usual photographic image to one that gives the impression that the image has been painted by hand.

In order to further enhance this style and look, the prints are printed on Tecco Matte poster paper which is more in tune with paintings rather than photos.

Future collections will demonstrate the range of styles that are available now with the advancement of digital imaging, however conventional photo imagery will also be used in some of my pictures.
